Borussia rescue late draw in Bremen
Borussia drew 2-2 with SV Werder Bremen on Matchday 32 of the Bundesliga. Florian Neuhaus equalised from the penalty spot in injury time.
Borussia will be at home against FC Bayern München in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. The draw was completed on Sunday evening and the fixtures will be played on the 26th and 27th October.
FC Bayern München will come to BORUSSIA-PARK for the second round of the DFB-Pokal at the end of October. The exact dates and kick-off times are usually released approximately two weeks after the draw, which was performed on Sunday, 29th August.
This will be the two clubs‘ eighth encounter in the DFB-Pokal. The first came in 1983/84 in the final, which Bayern won 8-7 on penalties. The following season, Bayern beat Borussia 1-0 in extra time of the semi-final. In 1987/88, the two sides met in the second round, where a 2-2 first-leg draw at the Bökelberg was followed by a 3-2 Bayern win in extra time at the Olympiastadion. Bayern also won the next two second-round ties in 1996/97 (2-1 in Gladbach) and in 2007/08 (3-1 in Munich). The most-recent encounter was a dramatic one: In the 2011/12 semi-final, the Foals were beaten 4-2 on penalties.
