FC Bayern München will come to BORUSSIA-PARK for the second round of the DFB-Pokal at the end of October. The exact dates and kick-off times are usually released approximately two weeks after the draw, which was performed on Sunday, 29th August.

This will be the two clubs‘ eighth encounter in the DFB-Pokal. The first came in 1983/84 in the final, which Bayern won 8-7 on penalties. The following season, Bayern beat Borussia 1-0 in extra time of the semi-final. In 1987/88, the two sides met in the second round, where a 2-2 first-leg draw at the Bökelberg was followed by a 3-2 Bayern win in extra time at the Olympiastadion. Bayern also won the next two second-round ties in 1996/97 (2-1 in Gladbach) and in 2007/08 (3-1 in Munich). The most-recent encounter was a dramatic one: In the 2011/12 semi-final, the Foals were beaten 4-2 on penalties.
