Kramer and Jantschke return to team training

Temperatures were cold and rainy as the Foals began training ahead of Sunday’s Bundesliga home games against SC Freiburg. Christoph Kramer and Tony Jantschke were able to return to team training today.

Borussia have put last weekend’s tough 4-1 defeat to 1. FC Köln behind them, and are now fully focused on the upcoming game against SC Freiburg (Sunday, 17:30 CET). “We need to lift ourselves up again, because we are up against a tough opponent,” said Stefan Lainer, who made his comeback from a serious injury against Köln, as did Nico Elvedi.

Head coach Adi Hütter could possibly count a few more returnees in the squad this weekend. Christoph Kramer returned to team training on Sunday, while Tony Jantschke took part in the full session for the first time today. “Physically, I feel good again. We will have to see whether or not it works out on the weekend,” said Kramer. Still working hard towards his comeback is Breel Embolo, who is taking part in individual training, same as Mamadou Doucouré. Jordan Beyer is also still out injured (thigh muscle).

The team will train five more times ahead of Sunday’s match at BORUSSIA-PARK against Freiburg. On Wednesday and Friday, training will begin at 10:30 CET, with a double session on Thursday and a final one on Saturday all taking place behind closed doors.

Tony Jantschke returned to team training today.
