Looking to take the maximum out of the last two games

The Foals began preparation for their final away fixture of the season on Thursday. This Sunday (15:30 CEST), they will travel to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Bundesliga season is coming to a close. Only two more matches remain for the Foals, who can finish the season as high as eighth place. “We will try to get the maximum out of the two games and finish the season on a good note,” said head coach Adi Hütter, who kicked off his side’s preparations for Sunday’s match away to Eintracht Frankfurt.

With the exception of Marcus Thuram, who trained individually due to adductor issues, every player was present for the start of the week’s work. László Bénes, who had recently missed out due to muscular problems, took part in a small portion of Thursday’s sessions, and Christoph Kramer ended his day early due to some discomfort in his thigh. “We’ll have to wait and see whether Laci is ready to play this weekend. Chris was complaining of muscle issues, so we need to see how bad those are as well,” said Hütter.

Two more sessions behind closed doors

There will be two more sessions for Borussia’s first team this week, on Friday and Saturday, both of which will take place behind closed doors. “We’ll have a block of tactical work tomorrow and then a final session on Saturday,” said Hütter, who will return to his former side in Frankfurt for the first time as Gladbach coach on Sunday afternoon. “Of course, it’s a special game for me, but I don’t want to dwell on that too much. It’s not about me, just about the match between Eintracht and Borussia,” he emphasised.

The Austrian will travel to watch our upcoming opponents at Deutsche Bank Park this evening, as Eintracht play the second leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final against West Ham United (21:00 CEST). The Eagles are leading their opponents 2-1 after the first leg at the London Stadium.

László Bénes took part in a small portion of Thursday’s training sessions.
