DFB suspends Koné for two matches following red card

Manu Koné will miss the Foals’ next two Bundesliga games. The Frenchman has been suspended by the DFB following his red card in the 3-1 defeat to 1. FC Köln in the Rhine derby.

The DFB disciplinary board has imposed a two-match ban on Manu Koné after referee Deniz Aytekin sent him off for serious foul play on Dejan Ljubicic in the 72nd minute of Borussia’s Bundesliga away clash against 1. FC Köln.

Koné will therefore be forced to sit out of the Foals’ upcoming top-flight games against 1. FC Heidenheim this Saturday (15:30 CEST) and SC Freiburg on Saturday, 4th November (15:30 CET). Koné will also not be able to play for any other of the club’s teams until he has served the full suspension. Borussia will not appeal the ruling.

Manu Koné was sent off in the 72nd minute by referee Deniz Aytekin.
