Gladbach begin preparations for final game of the season
A new week of training got underway for the Foals on Tuesday morning, as they start to gear up for their final Bundesliga clash of the season against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday (15:30 CEST).
Eight players from Borussia’s first team will be in action for their respective national sides over the next two weeks during the final international break of the season.
Austria
Maximilian Wöber has been called up for the Austria national team’s final European Championship qualifying game on Thursday, 16th November. Austria will also face Germany in a friendly on Tuesday, 21st November.
Switzerland
Nico Elvedi will represent Borussia in the Switzerland squad, who face their final European Championship qualifying games. After the rearranged match against Israel in Hungary on Wednesday, 15th November, they host Kosovo on Saturday, 18th November, before going to Romania on Tuesday, 21st November.
Armenia
Grant-Leon Ranos and the Armenia national side are also set to round off their European Championship qualifying campaign. They face Wales on Saturday, 18th November, before travelling to Croatia on Tuesday, 21st November.
USA
Joe Scally (photo: imago images / Canha) has been included in the USA national squad. Head coach Gregg Berhalter’s side will contest the home and away legs of their CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final against Trinidad and Tobago on Friday, 17th November and Tuesday, 21st November respectively.
Germany U21
Luca Netz and Rocco Reitz have been called up to the Germany U21 side. Head coach Antonio di Salvo and his team are scheduled to play two European Championship qualifying games: against Estonia on Friday, 17th November and Poland on Tuesday, 21st November.
Germany U19
The Germany U19 side will finish off the year with two friendlies against Norway in Marbella, Spain. Simon Walde has been included in the squad. The first encounter will take place on Thursday, 16th November, and the second on Sunday, 19th November.
Italy U19
Fabio Chiarodia is part of the Italy U19 squad who face the first round of European Championship qualification in Borås, Sweden. They will play Liechtenstein on Wednesday, 15th November, Switzerland on Saturday, 18th November and hosts Sweden on Tuesday, 21st November.
On standby
Czechia
Tomáš Čvančara is on standby for the Czechia national side’s two decisive European Championship qualifiers in Poland on Friday, 17th November and against Moldova on Monday, 20th November.
France U21
Manu Koné is likewise on standby for the France U21 team. “Les Bleus”, led by new head coach Thierry Henry, firstly go to Austria on Friday, 17th November in European Championship qualifying, before taking on South Korea in a friendly on Monday, 20th November.
