Netz returns as Foals begin new week of training

Luca Netz returned after illness as the Foals began their preparations for the Bundesliga game in Mainz on Tuesday morning.

After the important 5-2 win over VfL Bochum, the Foals are turning their attentions to the upcoming away game at 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday (15:30 CET). They kicked off their preparations for the match against the 05ers with a 90-minute session on Tuesday morning.

Luca Netz returned to the pitch for the new week after having missed out at the weekend due to illness. Nico Elvedi and Ko Itakura will also be available again on Saturday. Both centre-backs served a suspension against Bochum due to accumulation of yellow cards.

Čvančara and Plea remain out

Tomáš Čvančara (rehab after ankle ligament tear) trained away from the team on the pitch, while Alassane Plea (bruised foot) also trained individually at the Performance Center. “Neither of them will be able to train with the team this week,” said head coach Gerardo Seoane.

On Wednesday morning (11:00 CET), the Swiss’ players will train in front of spectators, who will also be welcome at the talent training at 15:00 CET. The final two sessions ahead of the upcoming away game in Mainz (on Thursday at 11:00 CET and Friday at 13:00 CET) will take place behind closed doors.

Tomáš Čvančara will continue to train individually this week.
