Yvandro Borges Sanches signs professional contract with Borussia

Borussia Mönchengladbach have secured the long-term services of Yvandro Sanches Borges, giving him his first professional contract.

“Yvandro has developed fantastically and has become a full Luxembourg international. He’s massively talented, quick, and effective in one-on-ones,” said Borussia’s sporting director Roland Virkus. “We see a lot of potential for him to develop further and are delighted that he’s going to be with us for our journey over the coming years.”

Borges Sanches’ debut for Luxembourg’s senior national team came on September 18th 2021, in a World Cup qualifier against Serbia. Since then, he has played in four further competitive international games, as well as three friendlies for his country. Before graduating to the Luxembourg senior squad, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder had played in the various Luxembourg youth teams, including the U15s, U16s and U21s.

In the 2021/22 season, Borges Sanches made a total of 18 appearances in all competitions for the Foals’ U19 side, scoring six goals, as well as a single Regionalliga game for the U23 team. Before joining Borussia, the 18-year-old played in his home country for Racing FC Union Luxembourg. “Borussia has been the first club I’ve played at away from home. The club has given me a lot of trust from the very start and I felt right at home here straight away,” said Sanches Borges. “I’m really happy to have signed this new contract and look to the future with Borussia.”

Borges Sanches has been a Foal since summer 2020.
